Daniel's school has had a tradition of having a dance festival the last day of school. It is a big thing. I know they've been doing it at least 20 years - or so I've been told. Every grade does a dance and the 3rd graders do a beach dance to a medley of beach boy etc. songs. They have to make their own surfboard - and because they have done this for so long - they don't tell you anything about how to make it - just when it's due. So, as new 3rd grade parents, we were CLUELESS!!! Luckily, we know a few people in the neighborhood to give us some pointers - like use the biggest and thickest cardboard you can find. Have it about the same height as your child and what ever you do - don't forget to get your surfboard to school on time!
